Winx to face seven rivals in Apollo
1 year agoA field of eight has accepted for Saturday's Group 2 Apollo Stakes at Randwick, where champion mare Winx will be out to make it an incredible 30 wins on the bounce.
As well as Winx, champion trainer Chris Waller has Patrick Erin, Brimham Rocks, Tom Melbourne, Unforgotten and Egg Tart.
Happy Clapper (trained by Pat Webster) and Aloisia (Ciaron Maher/David Eustace) round out the field.

Four-time Cox Plate heroine Winx will jump from barrier three under regular rider Hugh Bowman.
Winx has won the Apollo Stakes on two occasions (2016 and 2017).
The seven-year-old has tuned up for her return to the races with two trials, and last Saturday at Randwick, Winx galloped with stablemate Egg Tart.
The race will broadcast live on 1116SEN at 3:50pm AEDST.
