Winx spot on for return
1 year agoLike the rest of racing fans around the world, jockey Hugh Bowman can't wait for Winx's return to racing next Saturday
The world's best mare will be gunning for a remarkable 30th consecutive win in the Group 2 Apollo Stakes (1400m) at Randwick, which will kick off what will almost certainly be her final preparation before being retired.
Not surprisingly, Winx proved she's spot on her for autumn campaign, impressing in a special exhibition gallop at Randwick this morning.
"She really put the afterburners on this morning, although I didn't let her use them I certainly felt them and I'm looking forward to next Saturday now," Bowman said.
"I hadn't felt that will to go and attack the line this preparation until this morning."
