Trainer slapped with 15-month disqualification, will appeal

Cranbourne trainer Shea Eden has been disqualified for 15 months and fined $2000 by the Racing and Appeals Disciplinary (RAD) Board.

Eden told SEN.com.au that he will be appealing the decision.

Following Thursday's verdict, Eden sent his owners a statement, which reads: "As you have been aware, I was charged with offences against the Rules of Racing, with the allegations dating back to June 2018.

"I pleaded not guilty to an allegation that I breached Rule 255.

"As you are aware, I was found guilty by the Racing and Appeals Disciplinary (RAD) Board of this charge in November 2018.

"Whilst the length of delay until the announcement of the penalty today has been unfortunate, I have been advised this day that I have been disqualified for 15 months on this charge."

In July last year, Eden was issued with six charges by Racing Victoria stewards relating to raceday treatment and a misconduct charge.

Stewards ordered the withdrawal of So You Think mare Considering from the F&M Benchmark 64 Handicap over 1300 metres at Swan Hill on June 9 following a stable inspection by the Compliance Assurance Team at the stables where his horses were staying.

The RAD Board, in December, found a charge proven against Eden that he caused or was a party to the stomach tubing of Considering.

It also found a charge proven that Eden engaged in misconduct and/or improper conduct in that he attempted to dispose or destroy evidence relating to the matter.

Stable employee Jamie Dentith was disqualified until July 31 after the RAD Board found him guilty to being a party with Eden to the stomach tubing of Considering.
