The Sydney Review 28/11

Bunched finish behind ROBODIRA and she had a gund run behind the drifting favourite SLIDERS, who was every chance up on speed. Can’t have this as a form race.

STOCKMAN costly for me the last three. He was scrubbed up a long way from home, but ran home in a R F L200m. Needed to be niggled at to stay in touch before he became detached, but the horse obviously does a bit wrong. Will make a good stayer in time.

ART CADEAU was good away from his customary on pace/dictating role. He’s primed for 1400m now. The favourite ANOTHER ONE is a forgive. Still learning, hated racing tight between runners and did run the F L200m OTR. KATTEGAT an eye catcher, can get 1400m this prep.

HE’S A HOTSHOT was advantaged by his on speed racing pattern taking bad luck out of the equation. He deserved this win. STARLA was very, very unlucky. Held up badly a number of times in the run for home and zoomed late. PROMOTIONS missed the start, ran home in RF L600m, but peaked noticeably on his run due to the ground he spotted them.

This is all about THREEOOD. An outstanding return. Doff found her in the parade and noticed she’s back full of muscle. She sat 3 wide and back, yet still ran past the lot of them. Got better with racing last prep, big summer incoming.

GREYSFUL GLAMOUR got it on her terms and King rode another winner; she had a day out, riding 4 winners, 2 2nds and a 3rd - huge! LAURE ME IN was huge from the back. Initially I was very surprised he was taken back, but he also didn’t seem to muster like he has done in his past few. He’s flying and can win again, he holds form.

OUTRAGEOUS tough on speed, but for me, the clear run of the race and by a long way was ROYAL CELEBRATION. He sat 3 and 4 deep without cover the entire race and kept giving to the line. He must be aimed at The Villiers and he’s a huge shout there no doubt. A number of these will go that way and the eye catcher was THROUGH THE CRACKS. Ran a RF L6/4/200m and clearly will be suited by the Randwick mile.

Forgiving of SNITZ who copped a huge bump early, so couldn;t take up an on pace role. Was then held up and lost all momentum. Didn’t let down once out, but bumps and interference can take it out of them. SPACEBOY didn’t muck around in front but stuck on well. He peaked 3rd/4th up last prep, so can win again soon.

NEW ARRANGEMENT unlucky. Had a gun trail, but ended up flushed out sitting 3 wide without cover. Then at the 800m, had to be checked off the heels of eventual winner TWO BIG FARI and over raced as a result. He will be primed 3rd up, but opportunity missed. Huge return from FULMINA. RF L6/4/200m. Handles all surfaces, gets over further and more mature. A very nice horse in the making. BETCHA FLYING held up badly, also up an eternity now, too.
