Flemington May 16th

Fine day and dry surface, there was an upgrade throughout the day, the tracked played very fairly.

Race 1 – Silver Race

GODODDIN had a sweet run near the speed and briefly looked the winner before the weight told and JAMAICAN HURRY launched late and got up on the line with the nice weight pull. A few flops amongst the rest to be fair.

Race 2 – Silver race

Few caught snoozing here and they crawled early before ripping home. DIVINE CAPRICE benefitted from a smart Nolen ride where she kept clear air and was able to be forward enough to be first past the past, she was also suited by being back to a firm surface. Run of the race was CRYSTAL CHIEF who was held up a fraction and really ripped home against the tempo late. BETTER KICK worked home OK and may be better suited out in trip.

Follow: CRYSTAL CHIEF

Race 3 – Silver race

They didn’t go quickly but unfortunately FLORENT was the value play of the day and she sat 3-wide no cover the trip, hit the front in the straight but the eventual winner LIBRATE had her back and the softer run told late. TOP PINS was chopped out at a critical stage and should’ve just about won. CHARLEISE had a soft run but ran the trip out well and hit the line. Another good effort from FLANDERSRAIN who keeps putting in.

Race 4 – Silver race

Oliver Peach here on the fave SIKROSKY, he went forward and the horse got a touch keen before relaxing, plenty of clear air in the straight and it was soft. ORLEANS ROCK was my best of the day, unfortunately the known risk eventuated when Melham got stuck in the ruck when the ship sailed, he ran on very well again. CREEDENCE perhaps the hidden good run here, she was climbing over them when badly help up and can run well next go.

Race 5 – Silver race

FROM WITHIN ran this quick at on her Pat Malone, they pulled her back pretty quickly. PREZADO loves this track/trip and was able to launch late again here. Slightly quieter ride on MILWAUKEE, he was good again, he too loves the straight but probably wants it a touch further. I wasn’t sold on KING OF HASTNGS over the 1000m, he was very good through and can run well over further next go.

Race 6 – Bronze race

It was evenly run. OCEANEX had the leaders back here, popped out and out toughed KING OF LEOGRANCE who had his chance but found one better on the day. SUPER GIRL and SKELM both ran well at odds.

Race 7 – Silver race

RUPTURE led them here at relatively even fractions but punctured badly in a very out of character performance. SUPER TITUS who he beat comfortably last time outgunned MAHAMADEIS who showed a nice return to form. Checkered run home for CARZOFF and KAONIC was ok late too.

Race 8 – Bronze race

As predicted, this was a very strongly run affair and SIRUS SUSPECT went for home even earlier to make it even harder for those trying to stay close. ARCHERNAR STAR was well supported and looked home but was ultimately entitled to get tired and ICONOCLASM thrived late and nabbed him. PLEIN CIEL and VASSILATOR made good ground but were suited by the strong speed.

Race 9 – Bronze race

DEBT’N’DEFICIT appreciated the drop in trip here and let go from midfield and put them away. BEEHUNTER is a sloppy beginner and did that again here, he was held up in the straight and closed well again, good horse but he keeps giving them a head start. BROADWAYANDFORTH is anchored by the weights at the moment. I wouldn’t mind them using a claim next go.
