Racing: The Midweek Oil
1 year agoThere's a stack of high-quality, competitive midweek racing across the country today, but the task of finding a winner appears to be a difficult one.
And while the experts from THERACECLUB.com.au don't have any rolled gold, stinking morals, they have found a few they are relatively keen on, with 'small plays' being the theme of the day.
At Sandown (Hillside), Mick Sharkie, who steered punters into Avilius on Saturday, reckons VILLA SARCHI (Race 8, No.6) will be hard to beat.
"He wasn't suited around Moonee Valley on a night when horses near the speed had an edge; he was out the back and crabbing it round the corner while the leaders kicked into gear," Sharkie said.
"He's back to Hillside, where he was so good first-up, and I expect to see a much better performance."
Villa Sarchi is likely to start at $2.60 or thereabouts.

In Sydney, Tony Lorch (aka 'King') believes ARCHEDEMUS (Race 6, No.3) will take beating when he resumes at Warwick Farm.
Archedemus is likely to start at $2.30 or thereabouts.
And at Murray Bridge, Adam Curkpatrick, feels DEXTER YOU DEVIL (Race 5, No.3) is good value at around the $4.60 mark.
