Microphone on song for Talindert

Godolphin Australia head trainer James Cummings has given a good push for talented colt Microphone in Saturday's Listed Talindert Stakes (1100m) at Flemington.

Microphone won on debut at headquarters last month, before running second to unbeaten colt I Am Immortal in the Listed Blue Diamond Preview at Caulfield

"He'll enjoy getting back to the straight track here. His form is quite strong and he looks well-suited," Cummings said in his weekly stable update.

"He's still improving, he's thrived between runs and is capable of going ahead on his Blue Diamond Preview form."

By Exceed And Excel out of Sung - a sister to Group 1 winner Yell - Microphone will jump from the inside gate under James McDonald.

Godolphin will also be represented by Lanigera in the Talindert.

The Denman colt will make his Flemington debut following two encouraging runs at Caulfield.

"He's been in good shape since his last run at Caulfield and he has valuable straight-track experience from trials at Flemington last year," said Cummings.

Mark Zahra has the ride, with Lanigera to break from barrier two.

Meanwhile, in the feature race at Flemington, the Black Caviar Lightning (1000m), Osborne Bulls will look to hand the blue jackets another G1.

Osborne Bulls has only finished outside the first three once in 14 starts (9-2-2) and won up the Flemington straight during the spring carnival.

The five-year-old, who ran fifth in The Everest prior to winning the G2 Linlithgow Stakes on November 3, has never raced at a distance short of 1200m.

"He tackles the five furlongs for the first time at weight-for-age and at G1 level, so it's a very interesting test, even for such a talented young sprinter," Cummings said.

"We’re hoping that his one-from-one record down the straight will be an advantage.

"He showed the potential of a good sprinter in The Everest, so we're looking forward to this campaign."

Craig Williams rides Osborne Bulls, which will start from barrier five.
