Levendi injured, may have run last race
1 year agoThe career of Levendi is up in the air, after the Group 1 winner suffered a serious injury at the trials on Monday.
Levendi will miss the autumn carnival after fracturing his pelvis in his 807-metre Warwick Farm trial.
The Peter Gelagotis-trained entire, who won last year's G1 ATC Derby, appeared to jump awkwardly and was eased down by jockey Brenton Avdulla midway through the trial.
Team Gelagotis tweeted: "Upon an early vet inspection it appears Levendi has suffered a pelvic fracture to the offside hind.
"Unfortunately he will miss Sydney autumn carnival and his future will be decided in the coming months upon medical advice from our entire veterinary team.
"The horse is in good care."

With the breeding season to commence in spring, and Levendi being a G1-winning son of top stallion Pierro, Levendi may well have run his last race.
