Jewel day wrap up

A good days racing with a drying track which was a positive. Always a little tricky form wise when this is wet, the track is perfect when it's dry and faster as jocks stay on the fence and ride tighter. For that reason I'm just going to review the races that should be the best form races moving forward.

Race 3:

MOONSHINE LADY took the claim for Thompson and just run them into the ground. I love seeing leaders let run when they are in form like here. She's a new horse since joining the Hulbert's. GRACIE BELLE drifted but got up on the inside and ran well for 2nd. JARDIN ROUGE, RED STINA and TRAIL OF GLORY were all good without ever looking a chance. All can run well in races that shape better than this did for them. EF would suit TOG and RS.

Race 4:

All honours MAGNUFIGHTER. He sat off the leaders and looked to work up to them a fair way out. No doubt he hit the front too soon but he just kept finding when he was challenged and this was a very good win. It has taken a bit for him to get fit but rock hard now and can win again. MR GARCIA better suited on a drier track than this. Should improve off this and hope they keep him north. ERIC THE EEL was placed well out of his grade and got a big tick here. Good through the line and no doubt a little better ridden further back to allow him to finish off. GRESHAM, well he was good but impossible to follow his form.

Race 5:

The two guns ran the quinella but KISUKANO was able to beat the $1.20 fav ROTHFIRE. No doubt ROTHFIRE may have come to the end of it this prep but the filly was much underrated. Everyone was talking times etc from last start. That doesn't take into account the fact the filly had done things wrong each start and had a stack of improvement in her. Weights and measure are great but upside has to be taken into account also.

Race 8:

GREY MISSILE has been exceptional for the Edmonds camp. Had to do some work again early, kicked for home and looked the winner until SNITCH launched late to win by a half head. Both runs were very good and you'd think GREY MISSILE wins as soon as he draws a gate. CHAPTER AND VERSE every chance and might just need to be in the paddock now.
