Huge bets placed on Winx
1 year agoOne punter has splashed the cash on superstar mare Winx ahead of her return to racing at Randwick on Saturday.
The punter has plonked a whopping $250,000 on Winx to win the Group 2 Apollo Stakes at $1.08 with TAB.
Should the four-time Cox Plate heroine win as expected, the punter will make a $20,000 profit.
Trent Langskaill confirmed the bet is the biggest TAB has ever taken on Winx.
"The bet of $250,000 at $1.08 is the biggest that has been placed on Winx during her winning run and eclipses the $201,200 wager at $1.22 on her to win last year's Cox Plate," Langskaill said.
Another TAB punter has had $150,000 on Winx at $1.10 and another customer placed $40,000 on her at $1.08.
The race will broadcast live on 1116SEN at 3:50pm AEDST.
