EAGLE FARM REVIEW - 3RD APRIL3 weeks ago
Race 1 – SECRET TALES heavily backed and got the job done. No real surprises here.
Race 2 – No doubt STARDOME should have won this. Good riding early by Dittman but from there on he got shuffled back and probably needed to get going 100m sooner than what he did. This is all in hindsight and just an observation.
Race 3 – Really good win by CLEARANCE SALE here considering he was first up. He has come back a better horse and can be followed with confidence as he is likely to improve further.
Race 4 – I don't like this form going forward with the exception of 2 runners. PATTY'S FORTUNE was restrained here from the extreme outside, overraced and hit the line very well all considered. Would love to see her back in distance on a wet track. ROASTED was first up here. She jumped well but because of that Spinksy had to go back to the 2nd last pair or she would have been at least 3 wide the entire. Finished off well under the circumstances. 1200m again with a softer draw would be ideal.
Race 5 – I've been less impressed than others in regards to TYCOON EVIE this preparation. She has smashed the clock and buried some decent horses here. Dropping back in distance I thought was against her and the tempo was very slow. All credit to her. Just a filly in the zone that can be followed with confidence up in distance. Despite not being much of a betting proposition you have to forgive GOTTA KISS here as she pulled up coughing.
Race 6 – Strange market move here for MONTEZ who for mine isn't a blinkers horse. They are reapplied for this. Just have to put a line through the run. ALPENDURADA has had a birthday of sorts here when you consider Montez (Poor gear choice), The Dark (Missed the start) and the 2 leaders (Over did things whilst setting a slow tempo) were all out of play.
Race 7 – Too late now but WREN'S DAY simply isn't a bet if not ridden by a rider who can't hit them with the right. At the business end Leah hit him repeatedly with the left which exacerbated his tendency to lay in and therefore costing him the race. Forgive.
Race 8 – Not sure about this form going forward.
Race 9 – LE PALMIER had the best run in the race and got the job done. He didn't trial as well as his stablemate and eventual favorite for the race PIZONIE who was well beaten but pulled up short in his stride.
