EAGLE FARM REVIEW - 20TH FEBRUARY3 months ago
Race 1 – Superb ride here by Jimmy Orman on the winner MISHANI ENCHANTED taking off and catching the leader napping on the corner after setting a ridiculously slow tempo. She was able to hold off THE STIFMEISTER who was clearly the best run in the race here. 1200m looks just the beginning of his distance range. LEAGLESE didn't appreciate the tempo and looked an awkward ride for Byrne. Suggest she might need a Tongue Tie.
Race 2 – OAKFIELD MISSILE thrived here with step up to 1800m and the drop in grade going from Sydney to Brisbane. JOYMAKER was very good up sharply in distance. Not surprised at all to see her run as well as she did. Can she her going close in next few runs staying between 1800-2200m
Race 3 – Tempo here was even worse than Race 1 and the ride by Larry won it on ROMAKASH.
Race 4 – The Australian Bloodstock horses dominated here but the horse to follow for mine is GOLLY HUTT. He was relatively poorly placed vs. this calibre of horse and more than held his own 2nd up. Finished off very strongly and super strong past the post. Looking for 1300-1400m, a drop in grade and a home game.
Race 5 – Kilner went hell for leather here on I'VE GOTTA NEL mid race setting it up for something from behind. INVINCIBLE AL saved all the ground and got there. Huge run by KYLEASE. She's in really good form this mare and would love to see her over 1200m at Doomben 3rd up.
Race 6 – FLYING CRACKJAK stuck on admirably here and is a consistent horse. Placed right he can be competitive this prep.
Race 7 – TYCOON EVIE owned this race from the front and kicked hard. She got it too easy in front for anything to come from behind and seriously threaten.
Race 8 – A couple of First uppers were really good here in QUEEN SWEEPER & BETTER GET SET. QUEEN SWEEPER is much better ridden a tad quieter and like her trial she sat on speed but was 4 wide here. Stuck on really well considering she was 1st up. BETTER GET SET was huge here. 5 wide worse than midfield and ran on resolutely in the straight. Hammering past the post also.
Race 9 – Not sure what to do with this race. The winner had good form but she hasn't been what you would call screaming for 1400m. The track had really dried out by this time in the day and it looked very hard to make ground. Maybe best the just put a line through the race entirely.
