"Business as usual" for Weir camp2 years ago
Following a day that involved Darren Weir being arrested and quizzed for several hours by police, the stable has advised its clients that it's business as usual until further notice.
Mick Leonard, Weir's long-time friend and the current business manager at Darren Weir Racing, sent an email to owners on Wednesday afternoon responding to the day's events.
"As you are most likely aware, Darren Weir Racing is the subject of an external review,” the statement read.
"At this time the investigation is ongoing.
"Our main aim is to ensure our owners are not disadvantaged by this process in any way, and accordingly it is business as usual in regards to the training and care of your horses.
"We will make a more detailed announcement as soon as possible and are hopeful that this will occur sometime tomorrow.
"Thank you for your ongoing support, consideration and loyalty to Darren Weir Racing."
Weir was one of three men arrested after Victoria Police carried out raids on his stables this morning.
He was released without charge on Wednesday afternoon.
Weir has one runner entered for Thursday's Werribee meeting and four at the Pakenham night meeting.
