Brook in 'beast' mode: Miller

In the wake of the Darren Weir scandal, which has led to Australia's leading trainer being disqualified for four years, gun mare Whispering Brook has returned to original trainer Simon Miller.

Whispering Brook has had 23 starts, the first 16 of those when in Miller's care.

During that period, Whispering Brook won her first five races as a two-year-old.

And ahead of her crack at today's Group 1 C.F. Orr Stakes at Caulfield, Miller says the mare reminds him of when she was beating up on her opposition in WA as a juvenile.

"There's only three horses, and she's one of them, to win every two-year-old feature race; she swept the whole (Perth) carnival," Miller told SEN's The Odds Couple.

"What she's doing now is what she was doing at two.

"I saw her at The Valley last start and she was just a beast, she was so powerful. That's how I had her when I had her at two.

"The way she looks is reflecting the way she is going."

Miller said the fact he has trained the daughter of Hinchinbrook previously has made the transition easy.

"I know what she likes and what she doesn’t like and I can slot straight back into the regime really quick," Miller explained.

"She's already fit and racing well, and I just had to keep her ticking over well.

"Her work on Monday was of the high standard that we're accustomed to."

Miller also gave a strong push for Niccovi, who runs in today's Magic Millions WA 2YO Classic at Pinjarra.
