Two very in form mares giving weight to the rest of the field, well and truly stamped their authority here. FROZEN IN TIME the horse to follow in similar grade/distance. As the day progressed it was a distinct advantage to be closer to the inside fence rather than having to come around anything like she did and she hit the line running the best last 400 and 200 on the day.

Gee HONOURABLE SPIRIT has really come on in his last few runs. Back in distance/back to Doomben really played in his favour but he has gone very well compared to his same track and distance run here 5 starts ago. Can go up in grade, stay at this distance and be competitive again soon.

STARTANTES continued her rich vein of form since I tipped her each way first up running forth. She has gone to a new level here and will be extremely hard to beat either staying at this distance or stepping up slightly in distance next start. The mile won't be an issue at all. The other horse to follow here is another filly who I have a bit of time for, that being BULLOO. She was only second up here and taking a fair step in grade. She worked to find the lead and didn't shirk the task sticking on for third. With a softer run next start either this distance or going back to the 1200m she will be hard to beat.

Never wanted to be on ACHIEVER at any point. Pushed early to find a position and very one paced thereafter. Got this one wrong.

MATOWI doesn't win out of turn but he has been thoroughly unsuited his last 4 runs now. This was one of his better runs and I'd really like to see him back to the Eagle Farm 1400m with tempo on.

YOU MAKE ME SMILE got the perfect run here and won accordingly off it's good first up run. ROYAL WITNESS is absolutely flying and just needs to draw a gate to have a winning chance next start.

The theme of the day continued here with ANIMATE getting the inside run and the hop on DREAMREACHER who nearly defied the start he gave the winner and having to lose ground on the turn to get clear and balanced.
