Lane signs off in style
8 months agoStar Australian jockey Damian Lane farewelled Japan in style on Wednesday when he guided Omega Perfume to victory in the 2000-metre Teio Sho – a local grade Group 1 – at Tokyo City Keiba.
Omega Perfume – the third favourite – won by 1.25 lengths on the dirt track.
Local grade G1s are considered Listed-level events by the International Stud Book.
Lane's feature win added to Group 1 triumphs aboard Normcore (Victoria Mile in Tokyo in May) and Lys Gracieux (Takarazuka Kinen at Hanshin last week) in Japan.
What a way for Aussie jockey @LaneDamian to finish his current stint in Japan. Another Japanese classed Group 1 win aboard Omega Perfume with the race worth $750,000 AUD. pic.twitter.com/QYuZVZvmkb
