Melham back in action on Wednesday
8 months agoFollowing three months on the sidelines, Ben Melham will make a relatively low-key return to racing at Sandown on Wednesday.
Melham has been out of action after breaking his left wrist during the Group 1 William Reid Stakes at Moonee Valley on February 22.
The multiple Group 1-winning hoop was dislodged from Voodoo Lad in the straight.
Sadly, Voodoo Lad suffered a severe leg injury and could not be saved.
The 31-year-old Melham has three rides for Cindy Alderson at the Hillside meeting: Turn The Tide (Race 2), Fudged (Race 4) and Riel Reward (Race 7).
Melham has ridden 49 winners this season, including one G1 (Homesman in the Underwood Stakes).
