Lane lands another Group 1 blow in Japan
8 months agoDamian Lane has continued his sublime form in Japan, with the superstar Australian jockey notching another Group 1 win on Sunday.
Just a day after riding five winners in Tokyo, Lane partnered Lys Gracieux to victory in the G1 Takarazuka Kinen at Hanshin.
Earlier this Japanese season, Lane won the G1 Victoria Mile on Normcore.
Lys Gracieux's triumph was the second leg of a double for the Western Australian, who won Race 7 aboard Cri Du Coeur.
Lane has qualified to return to Japan next season and will be offered a contract for 2021 following his record-breaking two-month stint in Japan.
'Frosty' has 37 win from 122 rides, and his 30 per cent winning strike-rate is the best of the 20 current leading JRA jockeys.
