Group 1 monkey off the back for Collett
8 months agoJason Collett is finally a Group 1-winning jockey.
The talented hoop landed his maiden blow at the elite level aboard the Chris Waller-trained Invincibella in the final G1 of the season - the Tatt's Tiara - at Eagle Farm.
Invincibella proved too strong for Godolphin duo Pohutukawa and Savatiano.
"I'm very happy," Collett told Sky Racing.
"She was there, three out with cover, I peeled at the top of the straight and I know she's tough. When Pohutukawa came up to me, I thought, 'oh, here we go again'… this is awesome."
Invincibella's win also handed Waller a record 18th G1 of the season.
