Emerging filly Funstar makes it two from two
8 months agoTalented two-year-old Funstar remains unbeaten following two starts, after another fine win at Randwick on Saturday.
Trained by Chris Waller, the beautifully bred daughter of Cox Plate winner Adelaide and Danehill mare Starspangled – is a half-sister to Group 1 winner Youngstar.
Funstar sat behind the leader before bursting through a tight gap late to take out the 1200-metre two-year-old event by half-a-neck under Jay Ford.
"She's a very talented horse," Ford told Sky Racing.
"Even though the margin wasn't there, she was dominant."
Funstar realised $80,000 at last year's Inglis Easter Sale. She was bought by Anton Koolman Bloodstock, who also purchased Youngstar, and many of that filly's owners are in Funstar.
How’s the engine in this filly!?
