Saturday racing headed to Caulfield where the track had some give in it but raced very well.

Race 1 Take It To The Neds Level Hcp 1200m

CHAIN OF LIGHTING was excellently ridden when taken to the front and controlling this race. She sprinted well and can go on with it. SHE'S ALL CLASS was also an excellent run given the weight she was giving away to the entire field. I think both can be followed.

Race 2 Neds Punters Toolbox Hcp 1100m

Very easy to get excited about the 2YOs on the way through, however I think the fave GHANAATI significantly regressed from her debut. She didn't appreciate the left hand hit either and that arguably cost her victory. DIRTY GRIN was really only here for education given the way he was ridden but he caught the eye late and he's chance of making horse out in trip next preparation. HOOFS DON'T LIE was also very honest on debut.

Race 4 Neds Whatever You Bet On Qlty 2000m

They ran this very quickly and poor old NO EFFORT was entitled to knock up and no doubt slept well. D'AGUILAR flew visually late to get up, he's a good horse sure but this was certainly a case of the leader stopping than him surging.

Race 5 Neds Same Race Multi (Bm78) 1600m

They ran this quite quickly and it was a real sickie for CHIEF ALTONY backers as he was badly held up and should have won. BLUE CUP I thought was also quite encouraging but this tempo suited the run on horses so not getting sucked in just yet.

Race 6 Lamaro's Hotel Hcp 1000m

INUNDATION added another string to his bow, sitting outside the lead and accelerating away for a dominant win. Certainly not sacking SQUID GAME, held up and ripped home, the winner simply too good and able to take advantage of a positive racing style.

Race 8 Stephen Howell Mem. Trophy Hcp 1400m

No bad luck this time for CARDINAL GEM who was given a very good ride to get clear and going at the right time as they didn't run this quickly. ARRAN BAY was excellent given the tempo and still did a bit wrong, not a lot between them. DAYTONA BAY was also very good and all three of them can again run well in similar.

Race 9 Catanach's Jewellers (Bm84) 1400m

This race wasn't truly run and ended up messy for a few. HE'S OUR BONNEVAL was well supported and didn't let punters down. TURBEAU ripped home late and is going very well again. Sick watch for POLANCO backers who had leaders back, certainly was going close if he got clear but also aided by the run he had before that. MAYFAIR SPIRIT also went to the line untested and was a forgive effort.
