Winter racing headed to Flemington and we saw some spring contenders down the straight.

Race 3 Rod Johnson Hcp 1420m

Wary of this race as a reliable form reference given it was quite a bunched finish and nothing really caught the eye. FAIRY SPIRIT was pretty ordinary but I think he's much better than what he produced here and is worth keeping an eye on next preparation.

Race 5 A.R. Creswick Stakes 1200m

We have decent handle on PASCERO through his super Autumn, given that, I think PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE and STAR PATROL can both go right on with it in the spring. PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE the most upside with consideration that she can also go back against her own gender when it suits. No knock at all on KARACASU who never gave up the chase.

Race 7 Sir Henry Bolte Qlty 2000m

TEXAS TEA made a big form reversal and this stable continue to defy logic, especially over the staying trips. OCEANA BLUE didn't have the clearest passage, she was my best of the day, and I still think she was flat and disappointing. ROCK UP did a good job from the back.

Race 8 The David Bourke (Bm90) 1630m

Jury was out on TUVALU at the mile but he was back to his best here and was very strong to get the better of VISINARI who was also super. This was a cracking race, they ran time, and it can be trusted going forward. COUNTOFMONTECRISTO was a big run at the price he went around at, he can go back over home and cause some damage.
