Standish Day was backed up by some very competitive benchmark racing, and a couple of nice 2YOs in the opener.

Race 1 Resimax Rapid Racing 21/1 2Yo 1100m

ENGLISH RIVIERA is a natural 2YO, she found the front and gave a nice kick to get away from MAXIMILLIUS before LOFTY STRIKE got off her back and went past. Nice gap to third to give the effort of both a tick. I'd prefer to see ENGLISH RIVIERA around a bend next start, I think that would better suited her asset. There was a maiden race at Geelong the other day where XTRAVAGANT STAR and EROS did something similar, I think that race will measure up to this level as well so keep that in mind when looking at these 2YO races as we head towards the diamond.

Race 3 California Memory (Bm100) 1700m

This race was run a fraction quicker than anticipated, however hard to take anything away from DARK DREAM who was very dynamic from the back to round them all up with an emphatic win back in trip. SOMERSET MAUGHAM didn't muster early, perhaps Kah was too passive there, he was then held up and got out when others had momentum up. I'm not certain with clear air he was winning the race but he was at the least making it interesting. UNDER MY SPELL is racing in great fashion, they probably don't get too many more runs out of her so suspect they will look to place her to advantage. ODEON was OK but he is racing a little below his best.

Race 4 Twilight Payment (Bm70) 2000m

Alana gave A CUNNING FOX a peach here, put him forward and they didn't go quick, she and Jordan on DUNKERRY ramped it up at the 600m and paired off to fight it out, the claim was ultimately the difference. I do think both will get further. I'm far from getting carried away with this race as there was a wall chasing them not far away. If you backed ELZAMEE I'd be forgiving, he got very warm pre-race and suggest waiting for a better parade next time before chiming in.

Race 6 Vrc Event Staff (Bm70) 1400m

This was a strongly run event and set up for the run on horses. NICOLINI VITO sprouted wings once he got into the clear and hard not to be impressed with that effort. WORTHILY was slow out but worked home well, I think he's going to make a horse over a bit further. ADANDIMAN travelled well in behind them and was checked at a key stage, his run was very good. NARVAEZ was very brave sitting wide on that tempo. Good return from DIVINE DIOSA who ran right up to her jump out on Monday.

Race 7 Standish Hcp 1200m

They ran this strongly and Jamie Kah waited as long as she could before letting HALVORSEN go and he got the better of IT'SOURTME in what was a good go the line. He's a marvel down the straight and has been a very special horse for the stable. TURAATH was down nearer the inside, down the staright and at a trip short of her best, she's going to be awfully hard to beat up in trip next time.

Race 9 Resimax Jock. Chall. 21/1-Bm78 1600m

The crawled in this. PICAROON couldn't have done nay more than she did given her position in running, PITCHANUN was also excellent. If you backed either, don't be scared to stay with them.
