1116SEN to broadcast Winx's racetrack return
1 year agoOne hundred and twelve days after creating history in winning her fourth consecutive Cox Plate, superstar mare Winx will make her highly-anticipated return to racing - and 1116 SEN will take you there.
The station on Monday confirmed it would broadcast Winx's attempt at a remarkable 30 wins on the bounce and 34 overall, in the Group 2 Apollo Stakes (1400m) at Randwick on Saturday.
Crocmedia head of radio Sam Thompson said Winx was a national treasure, one that created unprecedented interest.
"We are committed at 1116 SEN to take listeners to the biggest events in the world and call them live, and every time Winx races it is an event," Thompson said.
"In what may well be her last preparation, Winx’s autumn carnival campaign is already creating huge interest and excitement. She transcends racing.
"We look forward to broadcasting the race for all of our audience, even those who aren’t necessarily racing purists."
